Like many artists, I have always had a creative side in one form or another for as long as I can remember. I have always loved to create with my hands. I have enjoyed stain glass, making lampwork beads from molten glass, decorative painting, metal clay, fused glass, and metal-smithing.
My inspiration comes from my love of nature and all that surrounds us in the NC mountains, architecture and color.
All my work is hand fabricated and formed with care in my NC Mountain Studio starting from a flat sheet of metal or wire, and with the use of a torch, hammers and hand tools I form the metal into miniature pieces of wearable art.
Much of my inspiration comes from students who I teach while traveling or in private classes at my studio. Nothing beats the feeling of teaching and spreading the joy of creating with other artists.
